Click here for our assessment detailing the risk factors pertaining to the sourcing of uncontrolled wood.

The above assessment has been third party verified by the Rainforest Alliance Smartwood Program.  It concludes that the wood sourcing practices of Tafisa Canada are respectful of the FSC guidelines of forest stewardship.

The assessment ensures that the following 5 critical factors are NOT part of our wood fibre sourcing strategy:

  1. Illegally harvested wood
  2. Harvested wood that is in violation of traditional and civil rights
  3. Harvested wood in forests where High Conservation Values (areas particularly worthy of protection) are threatened through management practices
  4. Harvested wood from conversion of natural forests
  5. Harvested wood from areas where genetically modified trees are planted
