Tafisa Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicolas Blackburn to the position of Vice-President Operations and successor to René Habel who will retire in March 2024. Nicolas will begin his new role on December 4, 2023.

Having first joined Tafisa in the role of Process Engineer in 2006, Nicolas subsequently rose to the position of Technical Manager in 2009, then was appointed as Raw Board Production Manager in 2022.

Nicolas has in depth technical skills and extensive knowledge of the wood composites industry, and has demonstrated over the years, strong leadership, rigour and a proven ability to take on challenging issues. He has also been instrumental in the company’s growth and expansion into new markets having been on the strategic research team dedicated to the development of Tafisa’s high-end LUMMIA lacquered panels.

Nicolas is an ideal leader to take on the position of Vice-President Operations and we look forward to working with him in this new capacity.

We also take this opportunity to extend our best wishes to René as he prepares to retire. René has been with Tafisa since 2015 and is credited with developing Tafisa’s operational excellence and continuous improvement culture. We are extremely grateful for his leadership and expertise over the years.
